This project is funded under the Foundation's program, Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities, which was designed to implement systems, policies and environmental strategies with potential to prevent childhood obesity in populations at greatest risk. The purpose of the project is to create healthy environments in and around Chicago public parks in partner neighborhoods. Deliverables include providing education and training to Sunday Parkways stakeholders, offering job training and employment to community youth to serve as Healthy Parks Ambassadors and creating, passing and implementing policies to improve access to healthy food in and around parks.
